New closure section announced on State Road 42 in Mooresville

MORGAN CO. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 42 will close between Carter Street to the east side of Indiana Street on or after Monday, August 9 through the end of September.

The intersection of State Road 42 and Indiana Street will be closed for approximately 30 days.

The official detour utilizes State Road 67 and State Road 39.

Monroe Street, Lockerbie Street, and the section of S.R. 42 including the White Lick Creek Bridge will be open to local traffic only on or after Monday, August 9.

The S.R. 42 project was awarded to E&B Paving LLC for $6.5 million. This project will replace the pavement on S.R. 42 from the bridge crossing over the White Lick Creek (West Fork) to the S.R. 42 intersection with S.R. 67.  The drainage will be improved with new storm drainage structures, curbs, and gutters.  New sidewalks will be constructed with ADA-compliant curb ramps throughout the project.  The work is scheduled to be completed in mid-October of 2022.
