BLOOMINGTON – Mays Greenhouse has been a fixture to the business community since 1965. The business started out as a simple vegetable stand.
Today, the business has expanded to offer a variety of plants from annuals, perennials, vegetables, rocks, and other landscaping materials.
“We try to offer a new variety of plants every year. We like to believe we are the largest greenhouse in the state,” said Nathan Pennington, co-owner of Mays Greenhouse. “Other greenhouses may be large in size, but we have the most variety to offer among them.”
The customers of Mays Greenhouse have been loyal to this long-standing business, which has helped them grow into what they are today.
“The weather with the flooding and COVID-19 has created challenges to our business this year. We have been having a hard time receiving some products. However, our customers have been very understanding, knowing the complexities of this year’s business climate, and have been patient in waiting for the product to arrive, especially with our plastic chairs,” added Pennington.
Mays Greenhouse employs approximately 75 employees which include 25 full-time employees and 50 seasonal employees, whose combined knowledge is able to provide planting tips, plant education regarding the care of the plants, and other useful information to the customers of Mays Greenhouse.
The business also offers landscaping materials and employees offer design advice. They are able to provide information on how to construct a beautiful yard or garden incorporating the latest features as well.
Mays is able to deliver rock or landscaping material directly to your home to meet all your landscaping needs.
“We try to offer the best product we can with a stringent quality control. We do not want to sell anything that does not meet our quality standards,” said Pennington.
Quality is one of the many reasons why customers return to Mays Greenhouse located in Bloomington. Customers trust and have confidence in receiving excellent customer service, knowledge, and quality product.
