Greater Chamber of Commerce and Monroe County focused on housing

BLOOMINGTON – Several housing developments are in the works or being proposed in Monroe County.

The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce provided this roundup:

The District at Latimer Square will add 340 apartments with a total of 900 bedrooms on the former Kmart site. It was approved by the Bloomington Plan Commission. No city council approval is required.

The nearly 12-acre property at 3216 East 3rd Street. is being developed by Trinitas Ventures.

The Trails at Robertson Farm – about 125 single-family homes on 44 acres at 4691 S. Victor Pike – will be on the Monroe County Plan Commission’s August 17 agenda.

The following projects will likely be on the August 9th, Bloomington Plan Commission agenda:

  • The Overlook on 3rd Street on the Southwest corner of State Road 46 and State Road 446 – 175 apartments in five buildings on about 10 acres
  • University Properties Six at 17th and Lincoln streets – A 4-story, 16-unit student apartment building.
  • Ivy Chase Phase 2 at 3111 South Walnut Street Pike – 33 single-family lots on 10 acres
  • Retreat @ Switchyard – 64 apartments near the west entrance to Switchyard Park
