Bedford man arrested after police find meth in his pocket

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a vehicle on John Williams Boulevard abruptly made lane changes without activating the turn signal. 

The vehicle proceeded onto Beech Street and crossed the double yellow line.

The driver 27-year-old Zachary Fish, stopped near 12th and Beech streets.

Police say Fish was visibly shaking. Officers asked Fish to step out of the vehicle after noticing a pocket knife in the center console. Police also noticed Fish reaching into his pockets. 

Officers then asked permission to search the vehicle, but Fish denied their request.

While patting down Fish the officer noticed a clear cellophane wrapper containing crystal meth in his cargo pocket.

Fish was arrested on a charge of possession of meth.
