Orvil “David” Reynolds

May 12. 1936 – July 20, 2021

Orvil “David” Reynolds, 85, of Oolitic, passed away on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.

Born May 12, 1936, in Oolitic, he was the son of Orville Reynolds and Mabel (Roach) Reynolds. He married Barbara Taylor on June 28, 1991, in Bedford and she survives.

David was a graduate of Indiana University in Bloomington and a 1955 graduate of Oolitic High School.
He retired after 38 years of service at Indiana University, first working in Audio Visual and ending his working years at the Wells Library. He was a member of the Donica Church of God and was formerly a member of the Oolitic Town Council.

David loved to read. He went to the library every day and enjoyed the Wells Library at I.U. as well as the Bedford Public Library. He would read several books at a time. David and Barbara enjoyed traveling and visited over 30 national parks. Together they worked two summers at Yellowstone. David thoroughly enjoyed doing crosswords and other puzzles. He walked the Town of Oolitic every day. He was very artistic and enjoyed writing poetry, sketching, and painting.

Surviving to cherish the memory of David is his wife, Barbara; one son, Mark Reynolds; one step- daughter, Robin (Ricky) Holmes of Springville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. David was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Michael Reynolds.

Cremation was chosen with no services being planned at this time.

David’s care.
