BEDFORD – On Friday, April 23, at approximately 8:06 a.m. an Indiana State Trooper stopped a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Julia Godsey for speeding on State Road 37 south of Washboard Road.
A Lawrence County canine alerted officers to drugs in the vehicle.
A detective with the Drug Enforcement Section of the Indiana State Police arrived to talk to Godsey.
Godsey admitted there was a glass smoking device in the center console of her vehicle. The smoking device tested positive for meth. Officers also found a baggy containing marijuana, two digital scales and a bottle of pills Godsey did not have a prescription for.
The information was forwarded to the Lawrence County Prosecutor’s Office and a warrant was issued for Godsey’s arrest on charges of possession of meth, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
