Shaky tires land man in jail on drug charges

BEDFORD – A Bedford man was arrested after a Bedford Police officer stopped his vehicle after noticing the front wheels on the Jeep Grand Cherokee were shaking back and forth and the driver left his lane of travel multiple times.

The driver, 30-year-old William Neighbors, told the officer he was having an issue with the axel on the vehicle.

The officer then learned Neighbors was a habitual traffic offender and he was detained.

Canine Zazu alerted officers to drugs in the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle police found two syringes.

Neighbors told officers he had marijuana and meth in a container in his groin area.

A female passenger was released from the scene.

Neighbors was arrested on charges of possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe and possession of marijuana, and being a habitual traffic violator.
