Indiana Conservation Officers to host recruiting event in Porter County

PORTER CO. – Anyone interested in becoming an Indiana Conservation Officer is encouraged to attend a recruiting event that DNR Law Enforcement’s District 10 will host on Friday, May 21 at 6 p.m. CT.

The event will be at the Horton Education building at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso, located at 775 N Meridian Road.

District 10 includes Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, Jasper, and Newton counties. Open positions are expected to be filled in multiple locations throughout the state.

Critical portions of the 2021 Indiana Conservation Officer hiring process will be covered,  including duties of a conservation officer/hiring process, preparation for the written exam, preparation for core values training, and physical agility testing requirements.

Participation in the event is not required and does not guarantee you a position; however, anyone considering applying is encouraged to attend for insight into the competitive hiring process.

To see if you qualify to be an Indiana Conservation Officer and to complete the pre-screen exam, see on.IN.gov/dnrlaw and click on Become a Conservation Officer.

Questions regarding the District 10 recruiting event should be directed to Officer Tyler Brock at 260-499-0948.
