MONROE CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor E&B Paving Inc. began work late last week on a $3.7 million bridge rehabilitation project on State Road 37 in Monroe County.
The contract includes bridge deck overlays at three locations south of Bloomington.
- S.R. 37, 4.05 miles S of S.R. 45 over Clear Creek (N of Dillman Road)
- S.R. 37, 7.81 miles N of S.R. 54 over an abandoned railroad (at Harrodsburg exit)
- S.R. 37, 7.47 miles N of S.R. 54 over Clear Creek (just S of Harrodsburg exit)
Phase one of the project closed the right lanes of S.R. 37 northbound and southbound at the bridges north of Dillman Road and the left lanes of the bridges near Harrodsburg through late July. Phase two will switch closures to the opposite lanes through mid-November.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution, and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
