Paoli man arrested for dealing meth and marijuana

BEDFORD – A Paoli man was arrested after Bedford Police officers were called to Revere Food & Fuel after a report of a man passed out in a maroon vehicle on the west side of the building.

When officers arrived at 4:36 p.m. they found 34-year-old James Day passed out in the driver’s seat of a maroon Chevrolet Trailblazer with the vehicle running.

An officer knocked on the driver’s side window. Day woke and told police he was waiting on someone.

Police detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. 

Day told officers he had taken a muscle relaxer. 

During a pat down, officers found a pocket knife, $165, and a clear plastic  bag containing marijuana.

Police then searched Day’s vehicle and found five plastic bags containing marijuana, a rolled marijuana cigarette and a bottle containing marijuana blunts. Police also found a Xanax pill and two baggies that contained crystal meth along with a baggie that contained a white rock like substance that tested positive for fentanyl and meth.

Officers also found a vape pen containing marijuna and a purple grinder.

The total weight of marijuana was approximately 26.34 grams. The total weight of the methamphetamine was 5.63 grams. 

Day was arrested on charges of dealing meth and marijuana, possession of meth and marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
