GREENCASTLE – Putnamville Correctional Facility (PCF) and Warden Dushan Zatecky congratulates Sergeant Oscar Neese on his retirement. Neese served over 28-years with the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC).
Oscar Neese was hired as a Correctional Officer on April 6, 1992. He became trained in nearly every facility post ranging from directly supervising offenders in a housing unit to providing armed escort of offenders out of the facility when required. Neese proved himself to be dependable, detailed, and knowledgeable while helping in the development of many coworkers over the years. Neese promoted to Correctional Sergeant on April 21, 2000, where he remained until his retirement.
When COVID -19 struck Indiana, Sergeant Neese immediately went to work bleaching the units daily, ensuring all areas were stocked with sanitizers and other chemicals needed to fight the virus.
When asked about the retirement of Neese, Warden Dushan Zatecky stated, “He was a huge asset that we will greatly miss at the facility. His hard work and efforts to combat Covid the last year show how strong of a leader he truly is.”
The Indiana Department of Correction and staff at Putnamville Correctional Facility extend their wishes to Neese for continued happiness and give thanks for their time working with him. He will be sorely missed.
