Bedford teen was injured when his bicycle was struck by a vehicle

BEDFORD – A Bedford teen was injured after his bicycle was struck by a vehicle at 10th and O streets Thursday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, 71-year-old Rea Miller was traveling west on 10th Street in a 2011 Toyota Rav4. Police say Miller’s driveway is on the northwest side of the intersection.

Police say a trestle that runs east and west along 10th Street prevents O Street traffic from being seen by motorists traveling west on 10th Street.

The trestle also prevents westbound traffic on 10th Street from being seen by motorist traveling north on O Street.

Police say 13-year-old Jacob Hubbard, of Bedford, was traveling north on O Street on his bicycle.

Miller told police she was attempting to pull into her driveway and did not see Hubbard on his bicycle. Hubbard’s bicycle collided into the driver’s door of Miller’s vehicle.

Hubbard suffered possible internal injures and was complaining of body pain and was transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Bedford Hospital for treatment.

Miller was not injured.
