UNDATED – With the theme “Complex Pasts, Diverse Futures,” World Heritage Day 2021 invites you to re-examine our existing heritage practices and narratives in order to create a more diverse and inclusive future for all.
On April 22 from noon until 1:30 p.m. EST, the World Heritage webinar “Diversifying Heritage in the United States” will inform attendees about what the U.S. is doing to achieve these ends and provide perspective from four diverse voices about opportunities for positive change.
The webinar will begin with a keynote presentation by Shannon Estenoz, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary – Fish and Wildlife and Parks, Department of the Interior (DOI), who will speak to the agency’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion. Shannon’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion of four professionals sharing their diverse perspectives on U.S. heritage and steps we can take to make our programs and society as a whole more just and inclusive.
