JACKSON CO. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Infrastructure Systems Inc. plans to begin pipelining work along I-65 in Jackson County on or after Wednesday, April 14, weather permitting.
Work will take place approximately five miles north of State Road 256 (Austin) over an unnamed tributary to Blau Ditch. Major traffic impacts are not expected with this project as the majority of work will occur off the roadway, however, the outside shoulders will be closed while work is in progress.
In addition, overnight single-lane closures are planned in late April or early May. These will be scheduled over one or two nights and will be announced in advance.
The $290,500 contract was awarded last fall and is expected to be complete in mid-to-late May, weather permitting.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, use extra caution and drive distraction-free in and near all work zones.
All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
