Sweetser Woman Arrested On Multiple Charges

(PERU) – Indiana Conservation Officers arrested a Sweetser, Indiana, woman Tuesday afternoon after multiple calls were received of an intoxicated female at Mississinewa Reservoir Beach.

30-year-old Joy Toy was first approached by Mississinewa Security after it was reported she was acting strangely and appeared to be intoxicated and a danger to a juvenile female in her custody. After speaking with her, the security patrol contacted Conservation Officers to notify them the female was becoming non-compliant and had struck them on the arm and head.

Conservation Officers arrived on scene and attempted to calm the subject down, but were unsuccessful. The female, while being taken into custody, began resisting arrest and attempting to assault officers and Mississinewa personnel.

Toy was transported to Parkview Hospital for evaluation and then transported to the Wabash County Jail where she was booked on preliminary charges of battery, resisting arrest, and public intoxication.

Indiana Conservation Officers were assisted by Wabash County Sheriff Department, Wabash City Fire Department, and Parkview EMS.
