Donald William “Don” Brewer, 74, of Mitchell, passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born October 1, 1945, in Lawrence County, he was the son of Clarence W. and Betty J. (Browning) Brewer. He married Mary Florence Passmore March 29, 1968.
Don retired from NSWC Crane after 36 years. He was a U. S. Army National Guard veteran and a 1964 graduate of Mitchell High School. Don was an avid IU and Colts fan. He coached Mitchell Girl’s Softball League for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Brewer of Mitchell; daughters, Kelly (fiancé Marty Claeys) Davis of Bedford, Kristy (Greg) Evans of Mitchell, Kim (Mark) Mullen of Edgewood, Kentucky, Kinsley (Michael Kwakye) Jackson of Bedford; grandchildren, Brett Davis, Drew Davis, Andrew Evan, Brittany Evans, Sarah Evans, Ariana Evans, Alivia Evans, Lillian Evans, Elliot Mullen, Cheaney Jackson, Bella Jackson, Makaya Jackson Three special girls also called him papaw, Audrina Dominguez, Kat Kwakye, and Kayeh Kwakye, great-grandchildren, Makenli and Korbyn Evans; siblings, David Brewer of Orleans, Greg (Cathy) Brewer of Bedford, Pat Brewer of French Lick and several nieces and nephews
His parents and sister, Connie Stone, preceded him in death.
Cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life at a later date.
