Robert E. Norman, 94, of Loogootee, formerly of Shoals, passed away on August 1, 2020, at the Loogootee Nursing Center.
He was born July 24, 1926, in Martin County, Indiana to Eley and Mildred
(Bough) Norman. He married Mary Jean Cox and she preceded him in death. Robert retired as a truck driver at NWSC Crane, was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army, was a member of the Shoals Christian Church, Shoals American Legion, The Shoals V.F.W. and the Shoals Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by one son, Billy Joe and Anita Noman of Shoals, five grandchildren Lucas Norman, Leah Rose, Lexi Murray, Brandy Rosenbaum and Liam Melvin; several great-grandchildren, two sisters, Betty Dobson of Loogootee and Alice Mae Hamilton of Loogootee; and one brother, Jimmy Norman of Trinity Springs.
He is preceded in death by his wife and parents and one son, Bob Norman.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Shoals Christian Church with Pastor Matthew Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites provided by the Shoals American Legion. Visitation will be at Noon on Wednesday until the time of service at the church.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Robert’s memory to the Shoals Christian Church.
