(EVANSVILLE) – Prosecutors in Evansville are moving ahead with felony charges against 58-year-old Gilbert Williams, who they say allowed two people to starve to death in their home.
Williams was arrested Monday night.
Investigators say Williams was the caretaker for a man and his elderly mother. Instead, they say, Williams extorted their family for at least $20,000 and allowed the pair to die.
He is charged with neglect and exploitation.
Williams is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail on $5,000 bond.
