US 6 Temporary Road Closure

(BUTLER) – Beginning on Friday, there will be a temporary road closure on US 6 at the railroad crossing on the east side of Butler, IN.

This road closure is expected to run for one week, through Friday, July 31, 2020.

All motorists will be affected by this closure, however there is specific concern regarding semi-truck traffic, specifically those oversize loads coming into Indiana from Ohio. US 6 is a narrow two lane highway, and there is no area suitable for these larger vehicles to get to turned around in order to re-route.

All truck traffic needing to travel to or through Butler, Indiana via US 6 during this period need to plan ahead accordingly.  The I-80/90 Toll Road, US20, or US24 corridors should be considered as possible re-routing options.

For further information and routing instructions, motorists can go to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) website www.in.gov/indot/2416.htm, or by calling the INDOT Fort Wayne District office toll free at 855-INDOT4U (463-6848).
