Rockville Correctional Facility Caseworker Retires

(ROCKVILLE) – Rockville Correctional Facility (RCF) Warden Julie Stout and her fellow staff are pleased to congratulate Milinda Wright, Caseworker for the Purposeful Living Units Serve (PLUS) program, on her retirement from RCF and the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC).

After 33 successful years working in the private sector, Milinda decided in July 2008 to take on the challenge of working in corrections by coming to RCF as a correctional officer. Being such a drastic change from her previous career, Milinda wondered about this new career choice.

But she quickly came to enjoy this new challenge and began training for various posts throughout the facility. She found she had the skill set for and was quite adept at, being a Count Room Officer where she remained until her promotion to PLUS Caseworker.

The Count Room Officer is responsible for maintaining accountability of the whereabouts of every offender at any given time.In May 2012 she accepted the promotion to Caseworker where for the past eight years she has assisted hundreds of offenders with planning their best path for their rehabilitation while being incarcerated. Milinda stated, “Working at RCF has had many rewarding moments and taught me a large variety of life lessons, now I am looking forward to the next chapter.”

Warden Stout had this to say concerning Milinda’s retirement – “Milinda will be greatly missed.  She played a major role in the delivery of the PLUS program and has assisted many PLUS participants on the road to re-entry.  While we are sad to see her go, we are happy for her to start her well-deserved retirement!”That next chapter for Milinda includes traveling with husband Jimmie and languid visits with their three children and seven grandchildren.
