Obituary: William Daniel “Scooby” Scoggan

 October 8, 1969 – April 25, 2020

William Daniel “Scooby” Scoggan, 50, of Bedford passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2020 at his residence.

Born October 8, 1969, in Bedford he was the son of Robert and Martha (Carson) Scoggan.

He worked for Stone City Products for several years.

He graduated from Bedford North Lawrence Class of 1989 where he was also a Boys’ Varsity Basketball Manager. He attended Silverville Baptist Church.

He loved his racing buddies and racing was his life. He loved to fish as well. Daniel had many friends, friends at the racetrack, friends from work, school, and friends of friends that he knew.

Survivors include his sister, Claretta (Tom) May; aunt, Ethel Fortner; niece, Danielle May; nephew, Robert AJ May, and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held at Scoggan Cemetery on Thursday, April 30, 2020, with Duane Terry and Reno Bates officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boys and Girls Club, White River Humane Society or a local race venue in memory of “Scooby”.
