Daviess County Declares Health Emergency

(DAVIESS CO.) – The Daviess County Commissioners declared a Health Emergency on Friday, stating that it doesn’t indicate an emergency with the COVID-19 virus. They say that the declaration simply allows for monetary and other assistance requests to be made to state and other sources.

The Daviess County Health Department requested the declaration.  It allows the Daviess County government to prepare to request state and federal supplies and assistance if and when needed. It also allows for reimbursement of county funds spent fighting the virus outbreak.

The declaration is in effect for 7 days and may be extended every 7 days after that.
