  • 12:09 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37
  • 12:30 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the rock-cut. A criminal summons was issued for possession of marijuana
  • 1:04 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Art Gallery Road
  • 1:07 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37, south of Stevens Lane
  • 1:18 a.m. Traffic stop at Bartlettsville Road and West Pleasant Road
  • 1:36 a.m. 911 call reporting a domestic fight in the 300 block of Grissom Avenue. A woman pushed a male several times and then put her hands around his neck to strangle him. He left the home and called 911. The female was arrested
  • 3:15 a.m. The caller reported her 15-year-old daughter went to a party in Bloomington and was then dropped off along the highway. The girl did not have a cell phone on her. The girl’s friend says the girl was in the vehicle and wanted to get out of the car so they dropped her off. The girl will not tell the mother where they dropped her off on the highway. The girl was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and white tennis shoes
  • 4:08 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and 16th Street
  • 4:04 a.m. Noise complaint in the 420 block of North 3rd Street. The caller says they are playing loud music and having a bonfire. The party was over when police arrived
  • 6:20 a.m. Medical emergency in the 3320 block of Tunnelton Road. An 81-year-old woman was ill. An IU Health Hospital ambulance and Shawswick VFD responded
  • 7:40 a.m. Request for animal control in the 50 block of Gun Club Road for a starving dog. Animal control could not find the dog
  • 9:13 a.m. Report of a controlled fire being done at Old Vincennes and Winegar roads. The US Forest Service will be burning around 49 acres around 1 p.m.
  • 9:53 a.m. Controlled fire in the 1800 block of Red Crane Road
  • 11:10 a.m. Controlled fire in the 610 block of Blanton Road
  • 8:49 a.m. Disabled vehicle at the Marathon Station on State Road 37
  • 12:05 p.m. Unwanted person in the 150 block of Helmar Drive. The caller says a 17-year-old male asked if he could stay there for a few days. Then the caller found out the male was 19 and asked him to leave. The male is now standing in the roadway and is refusing to leave the area
  • 12:30 p.m. Controlled fire in the 2100 block of Reuter Lane
  • 12:36 p.m. A male in the 1150 block of Butterfly Lane reported he locked his keys in a vehicle and there is a 2-year-old in the vehicle. Police unlocked the vehicle and the child was okay
  • 12:49 p.m. Traffic stop in the 1720 block of H Street
  • 1:24 p.m. Controlled fire in the 3090 block of Mount Pleasant Road
  • 1:25 p.m. 911 call hang up in the 630 block of South 7th Street in Mitchell. It was an accidental call
  • 1:32 p.m. Request for a welfare check at State Road 446 and West Powerline Road. An elderly male was walking along the roadway. Police say it was a female and she was okay
  • 1:39 p.m. Civil dispute in the 2090 block of Spice Valley Road. The male wants to file a no-trespass order against his daughter
  • 1:21 p.m. Wildland fire in the 3690 block of Coveyville Road. Pleasant Run and Marion Township VFDs responded
  • 2:58 p.m. Medical emergency in the 460 block of Sportsman Club Road. A male left the hospital with an IV still in his arm. Mitchell Police were requested to check a home on Mill Creek Road and on Dale Street for the man. They were unable to find the male
  • 3:17 p.m. Wildland fire in the 230 block of Morningside Drive. Pleasant Run VFD responded
  • 3:30 p.m. Controlled fire in the 380 block of South Meridian Road
  • 3:30 p.m. 911 call in the 2550 block of Old State Road 37. It was an accidental call
  • 3:55 p.m. Wildfire in the 2800 block of Stonington Road. Marion Township VFD responded
  • 3:58 p.m. Controlled fire on Ground Hog Road
  • 4:04 p.m. Traffic stop at Rabbitsville Road and Doc Hamilton Boulevard. Citations were issued for child restraint and speed. The driver also received a voucher for a car seat
  • 4:15 p.m. Controlled fire in the 380 block of Morningside Drive.
  • 4:41 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Wesley Chapel Road
  • 4:54 p.m. Wildfire reported in the 20 block of Overlook Road. Marion Township VFD responded
  • 4:54 p.m. Traffic stop at the Sinclair station on State Road 37. A citation was issued
  • 5:49 p.m. Disabled vehicle at State Road 37 and Oak Lane
  • 5:52 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Raiden Hill Road. A citation was issued

  • 6:14 p.m. Theft in the 140 block of Hickory Heights Circle. The caller says his e-wife came into his house and stole his wallet

  • 6:47 p.m. Request for animal control to the 150 block of Diana Street. The neighbor’s dog attacked her dog

  • 7:17 p.m. Report of a suspicious person in the 90 block of Old US 50. Two males walked up to the hydraulic business and cut the lock
  • 7:23 p.m. Traffic stop at 6th and Warren streets
  • 7:44 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Roots RV. A citation was issued for speeding
  • 7:54 p.m. Controlled fire in the 780 block of Buddha Bypass
  • 8:09 p.m. Disabled vehicle at Sixth and Warren streets

  • 8:22 p.m. Traffic stop at 15th and E streets. A male and a female were arrested
  • 8:23 p.m. 911 call on Industrial Park Drive. The caller says her ex-boyfriend just came to her apartment and punched her in the face and stole her money and her coat and took off
  • 8:43 p.m. Controlled fire in the 4900 block of Huron Williams Road
  • 8:45 p.m. 911 call reporting a possible intoxicated driver in a red Car at US 50 East and Shawswick Station Road. Jackson County Sheriff’s Department was alerted
  • 8:49 p.m. Request for animal control to the 1900 block of Stonington Road for a vicious pitbull running loose
  • 9 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Kentucky Fried Chicken
  • 9:07 p.m. Juvenile problem in the 3610 block of Old Vincennes Road. A 7-year-old child is out of control and will not go to bed
  • 9:07 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 60 East at the motel
  • 9:12 p.m. Medical emergency in the 100 block of Pioneer Creek Road. A person was suffering from chest pains. An AMR ambulance and Mitchell VD responded
  • 9:21 p.m. Traffic stop at CVS Pharmacy in Mitchell
  • 9:53 p.m. Repossession in the 100 block of Northside Village
  • 10:06 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Stevens Lane
  • 10:24 p.m. Motorist assist at State Road 37 and State Road 60 East. The vehicle had run out of gas
  • 10:32 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Wesley Chapel Road
  • 10:34 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 670 block of State Road 60 East. A juvenile’s father was arrested and the child may be home alone. The child was with their grandmother
  • 10:54 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Trogden Road
  • 11:24 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and State Road 58 East
  • 11:23 p.m. 911 call in the 500 block of Plum Road. A child was playing with the phone
  • 11:28 p.m. Wildfire on Hidden Valley Road. Marion VFD responded
  • 11:30 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 400 block of West Hancock Avenue. The caller says children all under the age of 4 are screaming. There are several adults in the home. Police spoke to all involved

Accidents – March 8

  • 12:11 p.m. Car/deer accident at US 50 between Ridge Road and Port Williams Road. The deer was still alive but injured and needed put down
