Bedford Man Injured in Rear-End Collision

(BEDFORD) – A Bedford man was injured in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon at State Road 37 and Patrick Robbins Way.

According to a Bedford Police report, 88-year-old Ronald Brown was traveling south on State Road 37 and came to the red light at the intersection of State Road 37 and Patrick Robbins Way when he says the brakes on his 1994 Subaru Impreza failed.

Brown told police he swerved to avoid the car in front of him and continued through the intersection.

Brown’s car continued south on State Road 37 and struck the guard rail with the passenger side of the car. The vehicle glanced off the guard rail and struck the rear of a 2011 Kia Forte driven by 61-year-old David Gardner, of Bedford.

Gardner complained of neck pain and was transported by an IU Health Hospital ambulance to IU Health Hospital for treatment.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
