Lane Closure Scheduled For Slide Repair on I-69 Near Bloomington

(MONROE COUNTY) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a lane closure on I-69 near Bloomington for a geological slide repair project.

Beginning on or around Friday, March 6, contractors will begin work to repair a geological slide on I-69. Geological slides are areas of soil destabilization that cause substantial erosion, potentially threatening the roadway integrity in areas in which they occur.

During this project, workers will close the southbound driving lane of I-69 in two locations near both Tramway Road and Harmony Road. The lane closures will be in place around the clock. Concrete barriers will be placed to delineate the work zone from traffic. Lane widths will be about 18-feet including shoulder. Any loads over 18-feet should seek an alternate route.

Work is expected to last until the beginning of September. INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews.
