  • 9:15 p.m. Joshua Hackney, 32,  2201 Washington Ave., failure to return to lawful detention
  • 11:15 a.m. Joshua Flynn, 33, Springville, possession of meth, unlawful possession of a syringe, resisting arrest

Incidents – Dec. 9

  • 9:15 p.m. An information report was taken at Big O Tires
  • 8:46 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 2200 block of Washington Avenue
  • 7:42 p.m. Animal problem in the 2310 block of H Street
  • 7:17 p.m. Traffic stop at O’Reilly Auto Parts on 16th Street
  • 7:06 p.m. A person was on station to report a protective order violation in the 1900 block of I Street
  • 7:05 p.m. Traffic stop at M and 17th streets
  • 6:58 p.m. Traffic stop at K and 17th streets
  • 5:51 p.m. IU Health Hospital reports treating a sexual assault victim
  • 5:49 p.m. Alarm sounding at German American on I Street. It was a false alarm
  • 5:06 p.m. Medical emergency in the 20 block of P Street. An IU Health Hospital ambulance responded

  • 10:22 a.m. 911 call at Golden Corral. It was an accidental call

  • 4:42 a.m. Officers were out with a person at Mitchell Road and 25th Street
  • 4:13 a.m. Report of a suspicious person at Sand Pit and Mitchell roads
  • 3:37 a.m. Report of a suspicious person at Circle K in the 1420 block of 16th Street
  • 12:50 a.m. Officers were out with a vehicle at WalMart. A female was arrested
  • 12:17 a.m. Traffic stop at I and 23rd streets. A male was cited for driving while driver’s license suspended
  • 12:07 a.m. Domestic fight in the 720 block of 20th Street
  • 12:01 a.m. Traffic stop at 15th and G streets. A male was cited for driving while driver’s license suspended

  • 11:31 p.m. Unwanted person reported at Circle K in the 720 block of 16th Street
  • 11:26 p.m. Traffic stop at Beech Street and John Williams Boulevard
  • 11:02 p.m. Traffic stop at 16th and J streets

  • 4:24 p.m. Property damage accident at 16th and L streets

Arrests – Dec. 9

  • 11:30 a.m. Donald Cox, 53, Columbus, wanted on a warrant for failure to appear on a felony charge

Incidents – Dec. 9

  • 6:15 a.m. An officer was out with a vehicle at State Road 37 at the Carpet Barn
  • 6:54 a.m. Report of a suspicious person in the parking lot in the 1420 block of I Sreet. A male is concerned the person is following him. The suspicious person was not causing a disturbance but the male says he believes the other male is after him and wanting to shoot him. The male reporting the incident is believed to be suffering from mental issues and believes things that are unfounded. He took off walking eastbound on 15th Street away from the Sheriff’s Department
  • 7:18 a.m. Deputies made extra patrols at Needmore Elementary School
  • 7:37 a.m. Deputies made extra patrols at Springville Elementary School
  • 7:38 a.m. Deputies made extra patrols at BNL High School
  • 8:25 a.m. Request for a welfare check in the 3620 block of Dixie Highway. The caller has not been able to get a hold of his fiancee or his child for two days. The female was at work. The grandfather told police the male and female have been separated for some time and no longer have a relationship and they do not have a child together and is unsure why the male is trying to contact her
  • 8:46 a.m. Follow up investigation on station
  • 8:49 a.m. 911 call reporting an accident with possible injuries on US 50 West in Martin County. Martin County Sheriff’s Department alerted
  • 8:53 a.m. A resident in the 2490 block of Rabbitsville Road reported an 8-month old child was locked in a vehicle. The vehicle was opened
  • 9:11 a.m. A resident in the 1770 block of Coxton Road reported a 1-year-old child was locked in a running vehicle
  • 9:15 a.m. Request for a welfare check in the 80 block of Locust Road. The caller says his 66-year-old girlfriend has not been feeling well and he had not heard from her. The caller phoned back at 9:44 a.m. and reported he had got a hold of the woman and she was okay
  • 9:23 a.m. Report of a suspicious item found at Roots RV on Wesley Chapel Road
  • 9:40 a.m. Alarm sounding in the 80 block of McFadden Ridge Road. It was an accidental alarm
  • 9:55 a.m. Medical emergency at the BNL Career Center. A student was suffering a seizure
  • 10:31 a.m. Request for a welfare check on a 16-year-old female. The caller says the child is home and groggy from her new medication. An officer says the girl was fine
  • 10:40 a.m. Medical emergency in the 610 block of Guthrie Road. Someone was injured in the limestone mill. The person fell two feet and struck his head
  • 10:51 a.m. Request for animal control to the 700 block of Gilbert Drive in Mitchell for an animal running loose
  • 11:05 a.m. Report of a bad check passed at the Heltonville Store
  • 11:15 a.m. 911 call from 17th and O streets. Bedford Police alerted
  • 11:25 a.m. 911 call in the 140 block of Liberty Street. It was an accidental call
  • 11:26 a.m.  Request for animal control to the 1110 block of Kings Ridge Road for a horse without any food. Animal control says the horse was fine
  • 12 p.m. Follow up investigation at Stone Gate Court
  • 12:16 p.m. 911 call in the 560 block of Sugar Hill Road. A child was playing with a phone. Police went to the home two days ago for the same issue. The 17-year-old was watching children and told police one of them must have got the phone. The teen was advised to keep the phone away from the children what would happen if 911 was called again
  • 12:36 p.m. Traffic stop at Lincoln Avenue and 15th Street
  • 12:49 a.m. Request for a welfare check in the 710 block of Glendale Way. The caller told the resident he was going to be evicted due to him having pets he was not allowed to have at the home. The male made suicidal comments. There was no answer when police arrived
  • 1:09 p.m. Medical emergency in a vehicle at State Road 37 at the Oolitic light. A woman in a gray Yukon was having a possible heart attack
  • 1:40 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and State Road 60 West
  • 1:48 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the Marathon station
  • 1:49 p.m. Report two suspicious males were knocking on the caller’s door of a home in the first block of Eversole Court in Mitchell. Police were unable to locate the males
  • 2:02 p.m. Request for animal control to the 50 block of Lakeside Estates. A resident is housing dogs at the home and it is against the rules
  • 2:13 p.m. Medical emergency in the 470 block of Carver Lan. A 97-year-old woman was suffering a possible stroke2:27 p.m. Traffic incident at Tunnelton Road and Lowland Drive. A truck was stuck on the tracks
  • 4:07 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and State Road 60
  • 4:38 p.m. Traffic stop in the 2700 block of US 50 East
  • 5:09 p.m. A resident in the 1290 block of Popcorn Road reported her husband is making threats and will not allow her to leave. Police arrived and the female gathered some items and left for the night
  • 5:27 p.m. Medical emergency in the 20 block of Liberty Bell Street. An 88-year-old  female was ill
  • 5:32 p.m. A male was on station to report a physical altercation in the 90 block of US 50. The male says the fight took place at his work at Lawrence County Hydraulics. The male says the altercation was about a storage unit the other male’s mother purchased that was previously owned by the male’s family. The male did not want to file charges at this time
  • 5:32 p.m. Theft in the 3610 block of State Road 37 at the Shell station
  • 6:34 p.m. Trespassing in the 220 block of Tarry Park Lane. The caller has a protective order in place and wants to speak to an officer
  • 6:35 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the Marathon station6:42 p.m. An inmate was transported to IU Health Hospital
  • 7:04 p.m. Medical emergency in the 50 block of  South Acres Drive in Mitchell. A 57-year-old was ill
  • 7:08 p.m. Medical emergency in the 520 block of Old Vincennes Road. A 76-year-old male was suffering a possible stroke
  • 7:23 p.m. 911 call at Rumpky Road and US 50 West reporting a possible intoxicated driver 7:26 p.m. Request for animal control to the 610 block of 9th Street for two pit bulls running loose. The dogs have been there for about 20 minutes and are friendly
  • 8:03 p.m. Request for a welfare check in the 9410 block of State Road 158. A nurse requested an officer check on a mother and father having a dispute and the father threw a baby bottle at the baby and the mother drooped the father off at the hospital and then left with the children. The nurse is requesting a welfare check on the mother and children at the home. Police say the mother and children were fine. The male threw his shoulder out of the socket when he threw the bottle
  • 8:26 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the Sinclair station
  • 8:27 p.m. Citizen dispute in the first block of Yockey Estates. Officers spoke to both parties about their behavior 
  • 9:39 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a black Dodge truck at State Road 37 at Oolitic
  • 10:06 p.m. Traffic stop at Teke Burton Road at the H&R Block building
  •  10:06 p.m. 911 call hangup from the cell tower in the 3800 block of Mitchell Road. There was no emergency. The caller was transporting a person to the hospital but didn’t need assistance at this time

Incidents – Dec. 10

  • 12:05 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Washboard Road. A citation was issued for speeding
  • 12:20 a.m. Report of powerlines down at Washboard Road and Old State Road 37
  • 12:30 a.m. Medical emergency in the 670 block of Meridian Road. A 56-year-old male fell in the bathroom and hit his face on the sink.. 
  • 4:10 a.m. Report of two boards with nails in them in the middle of the road in the 890 block of Wells Lane. An officer removed the board from the roadway

  • 7:38 a.m. Property damage accident in the 3600 block of Peerless Road
  • 1:13 p.m. Property damage accident with a vehicle leaving the scene at Stumphole Bridge Road, south of the bridge
  • 1:44 p.m. Property damage accident on State Road 37, north of the Avoca light
