(MITCHELL) – This morning a Lawrence County Police car caught fire destroying the vehicle.
“For an unknown reason, one of the department’s cars used by the civil process server caught fire in the engine compartment at State Road 37 and Woodville Road. The car was a total loss,” says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults.
No one was injured. The fire was extinguished by firefighters with the Marion Township Volunteer Fire Department.
Traffic was diverted for a short time on the northbound side of State Road 37 while firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
