(UNDATED) – State Sen. Eric Koch (R-Bedford) gathered with fellow legislators today at the Statehouse for Organization Day – the ceremonial start of the Indiana General Assembly.
Organization Day marks the annual first roll call of all state lawmakers. This day also provides each Senate and House of Representatives caucus with the opportunity to gather before session officially reconvenes in January. By state law, the 2020 session will conclude on or before March 14.
“I am eager to begin working with my colleagues in the Senate and House on important issues, such as supporting our schools, addressing ways to lower health care costs, and curbing the opioid abuse epidemic,” Sen. Koch said. “Additionally, this will be my first session as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, where my committee and I will closely review legislation that ensures Indiana’s court system is operating fairly and efficiently.”
As the 2020 session gets underway, Koch encourages residents of Senate District 44 to contact him with any questions or comments they may have. Koch can be reached via email at Senator.Koch@iga.in.gov or by phone at 800-382-9467.
Sen. Koch is an attorney with the law firm of Koch & McAuley P.C. and serves Senate District 44, which includes all or parts of Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, Lawrence, and Monroe counties.
