Bloomington Woman Arrested After K-9 Alerts Police of Drugs in Vehicle

(OOLITIC) – A Bloomington woman was arrested Friday after a Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputy stopped her vehicle for a traffic violation at 5:26 p.m. in Oolitic.

Police arrested 40-year-old Stephanie Shelton on charges of dealing meth, possession of meth and possession of a legend drug.

After stopping her vehicle a sheriff’s department K-9 alerted officers there were possible drugs in the vehicle.

“Officer Andrew Tillett found 9 grams of methamphetamine in multiple baggies and seven different types of legend drugs (pills) inside the vehicle,” says Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults. “She was transported to jail without incident.”

Officer Tillett was assisted by Oolitic Police Department.
