(ARCADIA) – An Arcadia man died Wednesday night in a farming accident north of Arcadia.
The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office reported Anthony Etchison, 43, was trying to climb onto a moving combine harvester when he lost his footing and fell underneath one of the wheels.
Etchison was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives and deputies working the incident say a local farmer was driving the harvester in a dark, dusty soybean field near 274th Street and Ott Road and decelerating to turn a corner when Etchison tried to climb on shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday night.
