Portion of B-Line Trail Through Switchyard Park Temporarily Closed Oct. 21

(BLOOMINGTON) — The B-Line Trail through Switchyard Park will temporarily close on Monday, Oct. 21st, 2019 for the safety of trail users as crews continue work in the main “platform” area of the new park.

The platform area includes the Switchyard Park playground, splash pad, picnic shelter, restroom building amphitheater and the pavilion.

Trail traffic will be re-routed along B-Line connector trails to Rogers Street to bypass Switchyard Park. The B-Line Trail will remain closed for about two weeks.

“We regret the inconvenience this closure will cause our trail users, but the safety of the public and the construction crews is our first priority,” said Dave Williams, Operations and Development Director for the Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department. “This temporary disruption in B-Line Trail traffic will allow crews to safely focus their efforts in the park’s main platform area.”
