  • 5:13 a.m. Medical emergency in the 400 block of South Sixth Street in Mitchell. An 83-year-old female was bleeding from a surgery site
  • 8:29 a.m. A resident in the 140 block of Dale Street reported someone egged her house and vehicle
  • 10:09 a.m. Request for a welfare check on a male walking at State Road 37 at Oolitic. A male was walking home from work
  • 10:11 a.m. Request for a welfare check on US 50 East near the Dollar Store. A male in a red ball cap is attempting to flag down motorists. The male was walking from Medora to Walmart to catch a bus back to Louisiana. Police gave the male a ride to Walmart
  • 10:20 a.m. Transport detail from St. Vincent Dunn Hospital to IU Health Bloomington Hospital
  • 11:09 a.m. Citizen assist in the 720 block of Main Street in Mitchell
  • 11:41 a.m. Report of an erratic driver southbound at State Road 37 and 29th Street in a blue Kia van
  • 1:04 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a black Dodge Charger at State Road 37 and CVS in Mitchell
  • 1:18 p.m. Alarm sounding at Midwest Trail Ridges. It was a false alarm
  • 1:22 p.m. Report of a burglary to a garage and house in the 520 block of West Vine Street
  • 1:25 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at the ramp
  • 1:53 p.m. Domestic fight in the 320 block of Stove Road. The caller’s daughter’s boyfriend is screaming at her. The male was given a ride to his parents house on West Base Road
  • 2:04 p.m. Domestic fight in the 100 block of Sunny Slopes Drive
  • 2:32 p.m. Controlled fire in the 1190 block of Middle Avenue
  • 2:53 p.m. 911 call reporting a female outside of the Circle K near Ruler Foods using drugs
  • 2:56 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and Erie Church Road
  • 3:10 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 446 and Eire Church Road
  • 3:38 p.m. A resident in the 370 block of Martin Hollow Road reported she is being harassed by her estranged husband
  • 3:53 p.m. Report of a juvenile problem in the 20 block of Shawswick Station Road. There is a large group of juveniles drinking alcoholic beverages and she can not locate her son but is concerned for the welfare of the other juveniles. The woman called back saying the juveniles left in a gold Escort west of the Dollar General Store on US 50 East. She is still unable to locate her son, he is not with the group. A female juvenile was passed out in the back seat. Bedford Police was alerted to also look for the vehicle
  • 4:11 p.m. Report of a suicidal 30-year-old male in the 110 block of East Grissom Avenue. The caller says the male pointed a gun at her and then to his head. The male was transported to IU Health Hospital on in involuntary commitment
  • 4:20 p.m. A male was on station to report having trouble with his ex-girlfriend
  • 4:25 p.m. Medical emergency in the 610 block of South 8th Street. A female in her 60s fell and is not responding or breathing at this time. An AMR ambulance responded
  • 4:39 p.m. A woman is on station saying she went through a car wash and her temporary license plate was destroyed
  • 5 p.m. Countywide volunteer fire department test
  • 5:22 p.m. A person is on station to report threats. A male who was contracted to fix her residence after a flood has threatened to come to her house and hurt her. Police will make extra patrols in the 820 block of Trinton Circle
  • 5:33 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Rariden Hill
  • 5:49 p.m. 911 call from a resident in the 8910 block of Gore Road in Monroe County saying she believes someone is in her attic. The call was transported to Monroe County Sheriff’s Department
  • 6:02 pm. Transport detail at IU Health Hospital for a patient on an involuntary commitment to IU Health Bloomington Hospital
  • 6:24 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and 29th Street
  • 6:35 p.m. Traffic stop at Dixie Highway and Fortner Lane
  • 6:39 p.m. Report of a battery in the 50 block of Farmer Street. The caller was assaulted in the 170 block of Center Street in Avoca by another male. The caller is suffering head and chest injuries. The other male was found at IU Health Hospital in Bedford and was arrested
  • 7:01 p.m. Dispute in the 7960 block of State Road 158. The caller says a male has changed the locks on a home and she is locked out. She just wants to get the rest of her stuff from the home
  • 7:32 p.m. Traffic stop in the 2730 block of State Road 37. A female was arrested
  • 7:41 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a small black car northbound on Greer Lane
  • 7:50 p.m. Citizen assist in the 110 block of East Grissom Avenue. A male is at the home and does not reside there and is trying to change the locks on the home.
  • 7:51 p.m. Report of heavy grass clippings covering half of the roadway at State Road 60 West at FiberTech
  • 8:05 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Trogdon Lane. Two people were arrested after a K9 alerted to drugs in the vehicle
  • 8:06 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a black Chevrolet Cruze southbound on State Road 37 and Patton Hill Road
  • 8:46 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Old State Road 37
  • 9:05 p.m. EMS was put on standby for Orange County
  • 9:22 p.m. Medical emergency in the 900 block of Woodsferry Road. A 71-year-old male was unconscious. He was transported to IU Health Bedford Hospital
  • 9:24 p.m. Report of a suspicious white Pontiac in the parking lot in the 380 block of Hillcrest Way. The vehicle is broke down and there was no problem
  • 9:25 p.m. Medical emergency in the 4590 block of Old State Road 37. A 75-year-old male fell in the bathroom and is complaining of leg and back pain. He was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital
  • 9:35 p.m. 911 call reporting a suicidal 15-year-old in the 12410 block of US 50 in Norman. Jackson County was alerted
  • 9:53 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 at Patton Hill Road
  • 10:02 p.m. Warrant served in the 600 block of Fifth Street in Mitchell
  • 10:06 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a silver F150 westbound on US 50 from Speedway. Martin County was alerted
  • 10:29 p.m. Domestic fight at Sugarhill Addition
  • 10:34 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Stevens Lane
  • 10:40 p.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Wesley Chapel Road
  • 10:40 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a white Chevrolet box van northbound on State Road 37 from Wesley Chapel Road. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was fine
  • 11:20 p.m. Report of an erratic driver in a gray car traveling south on State Road 37. Police were unable to locate the vehicle

  • 12:26 a.m. Recovery of a stolen trailer in the 140 block of Old School House Lane. The trailer was towed to Mikels until the owner could reclaim it
  • 12:37 a.m. Officers made extra patrols in the 110 block of East Grissom Avenue
  • 12:47 a.m. Officers were out with a vehicle at State Road 60 and Sonny Dorsett in Mitchell
  • 12:56 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and Stevens Lane
  • 1:15 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and John Williams Boulevard
  • 1:13 a.m. Traffic stop at State Road 37 and John Williams Boulevard
  • 1:15 a.m. Report of a suicidal military veteran in the 5190 block of State Road 158 who may be intoxicated
  • 1:26 a.m. Report of an abandoned vehicle at State Road 37, north of Sinclair station
  • 1:31 a.m. Agency assist on Mitchell Road and 28th Street
  • 1:36 a.m. Alarm sounding in the 740 block of Fayetteville Owen Road. It was a false alarm
  • 3:18 a.m. Lift assist in the 4590 block of Old State Road 37. A 75-year-old male with a cast on his leg needs help getting out of a car after returning from the hospital
  • 4:49 a.m. Medical emergency in the 20 block of Trogdon Lane. A 62-year-old fell
  • 4:58 a.m. Report of a suspicious person behind the Avoca Mini Mart in an abandoned shelter about five minutes into the woods. Police were unable to find anyone

Accidents – Aug. 16

  • 4:09 a.m. Property damage accident on DNR Road. A vehicle was over the embankment in the 90 degree curve. A male and female were given a courtesy ride to Tunnelton Road
