The storms caused significant damage to the high school putting classrooms in the school’s Science Academy and Enrichment Center out of commission. Since the storms, around $9 million has been put into getting the school ready to students to return on time.

“We’ve been working around the clock since Saturday,” said Beech Grove Superintendent Paul Kaiser. “We still have some damage in the enrichment center. A whole wall on the side of that part of the building still needs to comes down. We also still have around $4 million worth of roof work to do.”

Many of the classrooms damaged in the storm are a lot cleaner than they were on June 20th, but they are still not ready for students. But he expects some of those classrooms to be ready by the end of the first semester.
