Man Sentenced For Fatal Attack of Inmate

(NEW CASTLE) – A New Castle man has been charged in connection to the death of an inmate beaten to death at the Henry County Jail.

Joshua Wilson will spend 9 years in prison after pleading guilty to battery in a February 2016 attack on Brian Gosser.

Police say Gosser was repeatedly attacked by fellow inmates after being arrested for driving while intoxicated.

The Muncie Star Press said Gosser had been attacked three times by other inmates. During the third attack one inmate was accused of holding Gosser down while two others repeatedly punched him in the head and face and kicked him in the back, chest and ribs.

Gosser died in an Indianapolis hospital from multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
