(MITCHELL) – Come to the Mitchell Community Public Library at 2 p.m. June 24, 2019 and hear Steve Grissom present a show-and-tell program all about Mitchell astronaut Virgil I. “Gus” Grissom and his amazing career as one of our nation’s first astronauts.
At 2 p.m. June 25, 2019 explore propulsion with a homemade rocket experiment. Change the size, angle or distance of the launch, adjust the amount of thrust – it’s up to you to engineer the best flight.

Stargazing at the park
Spend an evening at the Mitchell Memorial Park June 29, 2019 from 8-11 p.m. playing, drawing, creating and enjoying the stars. Join the library and the Indiana Astronomical Society as we star gaze with telescopes. Bring your own or enjoy the ones provided.
