Obituary: Teri Miles West

June 26, 1943 – June 13, 2019

Teri Miles West, 75, of Orleans, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2019.

Born June 26, 1943, in Orleans, she was the daughter of William Miles and Grace (Terry) West.

Teri was a graduate of Venice High School in Venice, Florida, attended Indiana University and later received an Associate Degree from State College of Florida in Bradenton, Florida. She was a member of the Lost River Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the American Legion Auxiliary. Teri was the Activity Director at Mitchell Manor for more than 20 years. She had a vivid imagination and held many events for the residents. After retiring she continued to volunteer at the Manor.

Teri dedicated much of her time to the care of her mother and father in their later years. Family was important to her and she hosted several reunions for her nieces and nephews. She was a talented story teller and an avid reader. Teri was a champion of animals and saved many.

Survivors include her sister, Mary (West) Ingram of Mooresville and several nieces and nephews.

Other siblings preceded her in death, William A. West, Robert C. West, Patricia J. Standley, Alice L. McIntosh, and Rita M. Rees.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019, in Orleans, Indiana. This will take place in a private room adjacent to Sprigler’s Farm Market & Deli, 120 W Jefferson Street, Orleans, on the square, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Please feel free to stop by to mingle and share some memories of Teri.
