Daviess County Signs Off On East National Highway Improvement Project

(WASHINGTON) – The Daviess County Council signed off on their part of the East National Highway Improvement Project.

The county and City of Washington are working together to pay for the local portion of the rebuilding.

The county has agreed to contribute $1 million or $250,000 a year over the next four years.

Washington Mayor Joe Wellman says officials can now move onto the bond issue.

Mayor Wellman says work on the east of the road will begin next week. Surveying on the west side is underway.
