Late Jumper Falls Short For Fever

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – A fadeaway jumper at the buzzer by Candice Dupree rimmed out as the Indiana Fever fell to the Seattle Storm 84-82 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse on Thursday night.

Kelsey Mitchell led the way for Indiana with 21 points while Natalie Achonwa chipped in 17.

Seattle did its damage with a Big 3 effort from Natasha Howard, Jewell Loyd and Mercedes who combined for 57 of the Storm’s 84 points.

For Howard, it was a career high night as she scored 26 points, 15 of which came before halftime.

Indiana outscored Seattle 43-38 in the second half, but came up just short in a comeback attempt for a second straight game.

The Fever next take the court Thursday night when they go on the road to face the Dallas Wings.
