Two Arrested on Drug Charges in Martin County

(SHOALS) – On Friday, at 1:38 p.m. Martin County Sheriff’s Department Deputy John Wright was assisting Martin County Department of Child Services at a home in Shoals.


When he knocked on the front door he could smell the odor of burnt marijuana. Sheriff Travis Roush arrived on the scene and also knocked on the door, and smelled the same odor.
Deputy Wright requested the assistance of Martin County Chief Deputy Prosecutor Mike Fritch to apply for a search warrant for the property, which was granted by the Martin County Circuit Court Judge Lynne Ellis.
While Deputy Wright was applying for a search warrant, Sheriff Roush detained 29-year-old Amanda Krodel who was staying in a camper on the property.
Krodel informed Deputy Andrea Barnett she had marijuana in her pocket. She was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and transported to the Martin County Security Center.
Deputy John Wright, Corporal Tyler Reed, Deputy Larry Gibson, and Reserve Deputy Jason Greene executed the search warrant at the property. During the search, officers located about 6.8 grams of meth, a controlled substance, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Brandon Stone, 35, was seen driving toward his residence later, and Deputy John Wright, Deputy Larry Gibson, Shoals Town Marshal Todd Eckert, and Loogootee Police Officer Kevin McBeth arrived at his residence and Stone was arrested on charges of possession of meth, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana and transported to the Martin County Security Center with no further incident.
