Lawrence County Fair Board Essay Contest

(BEDFORD) – The Lawrence County Fair Board is hosting an essay contest. The theme is “Heroes in the Heartland.”


The 500-word maximum essay must be focused on the idea of “Heroes in the Heartland”.
There are four age groups, based on the grade attending on January 1, 2019:

  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade level
  • 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade level
  • 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade level
  • Over 18 years of age

Entrant must be a resident of Lawrence County, Indiana
Deadline to enter is June 10, 2019.
First place will be awarded at each level with a ribbon and cash award. Honorable mention awarded in each level with a ribbon and cash award.
Essay entries need to be emailed to lawcofairboardbedfordin@gmail.com by Midnight, June 10, or hand delivered as a hard copy of your essay to Purdue Extension-Lawrence County Office, 924 16th Street, Bedford, IN 47421 by 4:30 p.m. on June 10.
Winners announced on July 12, during the Lawrence County Fair Queen contest.
4-H Council is selling its annual 4-H fair t-shirts.
If you would like to order one to ensure that you get your size, see the attached order form and return it and money to Amy Redman by June 12.

Shirts are $8 each for sizes Youth Small to XL. Sizes 2XL-5XL are $10 each.
T-shirts will be royal blue with kelly green and white imprint.
