Showers Classic Trivia Competition Celebrates Historic Preservation Month

(BLOOMINGTON) – The City of Bloomington’s Historic Preservation Commission hosts the inaugural Showers Classic Trivia Competition Wednesday, May 22 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Mill (642 N. Madison St.) in celebration of Historic Preservation Month.

Teams will compete to win prizes donated by CFC Properties and Indiana Landmarks in this history-themed trivia competition. Between the trivia rounds, two local historians — Derek Richey and Christine Friesel — will entertain the audience with stories from Bloomington’s past, and local trivia host Skip Daley will challenge the crowd with homespun trivia questions.
Meals and refreshments catered by Function Brewing will be available for purchase. All proceeds will benefit Bloomington Restorations, Inc., a historic preservation not-for-profit group serving Bloomington and Monroe County.
To register a team for the event, please contact Historic Preservation Program Manager Conor Herterich at herteric@bloomington.in.gov or go to the following link: tinyurl.com/showersclassic. Teams of two to four people may register.
“This is a chance for community members to get together, showcase their knowledge of Bloomington’s past, and share stories in a building that spans a century of Bloomington’s economic activity,” said Herterich.
