Pagenaud Claims Fastest Time At Monday Practice

(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) – Pole-winner Simon Pagenaud continued his hot streak on Monday as he claimed the fastest time during a two-hour practice session.


Pagenaud turned in a lap of 228.441 mph a day after averaging 229.992 mph. Josef Newgarden finished second with a speed of 228.273 mph while James Hinchcliffe rounded out the top three at 227.994 mph.
“Obviously, we have a good idea of where our car is at, but you want to see what the competition is like as well,” Pagenaud said after practice.
Monday’s practice session was the last one until Friday’s Carb Day festivities.
Meanwhile, in the wake of Fernando Alonso not qualifying for the Indianapolis 500 McLaren Indy fired team president Bob Fernley.
