Dean E. Blackwell – Bedford
June 1, 1935 – May 20, 2019
Dean E. Blackwell, 83, of Bedford, died at 4:17 p.m. on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Stonebridge Health Campus.
Born June 1, 1935, in Bedford, he was the son of Birtle C. and Elsie L. (Lewis) Blackwell. He married Bonnie K. Stewart on December 2, 1955, and she preceded him in death on April 29, 2019. He was a graduate of Heltonville High School. He retired in early 2000 after working for the city as a police officer and City Planning Director. After retirement, he drove the city bus. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Bedford, the National Guard, and the Bedford Masonic Lodge #14 F&AM.
Survivors include a son, Brian Blackwell, and wife, Jamie, of Bedford; a granddaughter, Erin Gratzer, and husband, Jase, of Bedford; a grandson, Brandon Blackwell, and wife, Terra, of Bedford; two great-grandchildren, Raelynn Grace
Blackwell and Miles Dean Blackwell of Bedford.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Bruce Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th at the Day & Carter Mortuary where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m.

Thelma “Maxine” Robbins – Lafayette

Thelma Maxine Robbins, 91, of Lafayette, IN and formerly of Bedford, passed away at the home of her daughter at 8:28 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Born on December 22, 1927, in Bedford, IN, she was the daughter of Estel L. Bell and Mary Marie Black. She married Norval D. Robbins on July 25, 1944, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2002. Maxine was a homemaker and worked several years at Hansel & Gretel Clothing Store and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving is her son: Denny Robbins and his wife, Chris of Bedford; three daughters: Judy Kidwell and her husband, Larry of Bedford, IN; Diana Megnin of Lafayette and Kim Howell and her husband, Joe of Bloomington, IN; Eleven grandchildren: Dale Lynn Ryan and her husband, Mark; Amy McGlocklin and her husband, Tony; Brian Robbins and his wife, Carie; Paula Stevens and her husband, Scott; Jason Kidwell and his wife, Lindsay; Anita Horn and her husband,
Mike; Kelley Cantrell and her husband, Tom; Mackenzie Crooks; Brian Howell; Evan Howell and Jared Crooks; fifteen great-grandchildren; several great, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Sue Coleman and her brother: Wayne Bell.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary.
Entombment will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation for friends will be at Day & Carter on Thursday, May 23rd from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Charity.
