(BEDFORD) – The U.S. Forest Service invites the public to a campfire program focusing on fire prevention, campfire safety, and wildland fire fighting at Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, on Saturday, June 1, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. EDT.
Fire staff from the Hoosier National Forest will be on hand with a fire engine to explore. Water hose activities will take place from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m., followed by a demonstration on how to start and extinguish a campfire safely.

Highlights include a guest appearance by Smokey Bear, who is celebrating his 75th birthday this year, and give away items on fire safety.
Join the fun at the amphitheater at Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, 6464 Hardin Ridge Road, Heltonville, off Indiana 446 south of Bloomington.
There is a $5 per vehicle fee unless you are already camping.
