
(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – Today, Representative Trey Hollingsworth (IN-09) announced the winners of the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.
The Congressional Art Competition is an annual opportunity for high school students to showcase their art and to recognize and encourage artistic talent across the nation.
The individuals who received awards are as follows:
1st Place was awarded to Seth Johnson of Mitchell High School. His acrylic painting titled Land of Beauty will be displayed in the US Capitol.
2nd Place was awarded to Lydia Amos of Bloomington High School South with her graphite drawing Horns. Her creation will be displayed in the Washington D.C. office.
3rd Place was awarded Christian Werner of Center Grove High School. His photo titled Heartland will be displayed in the Jeffersonville, IN office.
Honorable Mention was awarded to Adam Freeland of Franklin Community High School. His colored pencil drawing The Hermit will be displayed in the Jeffersonville, IN office.
