Making The News A Community Conversation

(BEDFORD) – You’re invited to a Bedford community conversation about journalism and how it’s done. This free, daylong event features discussions and presentations about the newsgathering process and how journalism might better serve you and your fellow Hoosiers.

This project is supported by Indiana University’s Arts and Humanities Council and the New Frontiers in the Arts & Humanities Program. The community partners for the event include IU’s Media School, 1340 WBIW, the Center for Rural Engagement, Indiana Public Media stations WTIU and WFIU, Bedford’s Times-Mail newspaper, the Bloomington Press Club and others.

You’ll receive a $70 gift card (Walmart, Target or Amazon) for participation in the daylong event and a $10 Amazon credit for completing a follow-up survey.
Participants must be 18 years or older with a primary residence in the Bedford/Lawrence County region
.

If you are unable to attend the April 13 community forum, you can still make your voice heard! Complete a 10- to 15-minute online survey about journalism, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift card (Walmart, Target or
Amazon).
Based on the participation of 500 people, the odds of winning the drawing would be about 1 in 125.
