Nancy A. (Davis) Holt, 76, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Mitchell Manor Living and Rehabilitation Center.
Born October 26, 1942, in Evansville, she was the daughter of George Herman and Violet Mae (Grunden) Davis. She married Virgil Omer Holt, Jr. June 23, 2012.
Nancy retired from Otis Elevator and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1960. She was a member of Jacob Finger United Methodist Church. Nancy loved horses and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Virgil Holt, Jr. of Mitchell; children, Lenna Brock of Mitchell, Leisha Terrell of Paoli, Jolynn Wade of Mitchell, Chad Ley of Madison; stepchildren, Kerrie Bell of Paoli, Tamara Black of Syracuse, Mary Beth Sites of Mitchell, Jonathon Holt of Florida, Brandy Jones of New Albany, Micah Holt of Evansville, Sarah Liquet of Florida, Hannah Aguilar of Florida, Zachariah Holt of Florida; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren
siblings, Roger Davis of Mitchell, Daniel Davis of Mitchell and Diane Davis of Mitchell
Her parents preceded her in death.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, April 8 in the Memorial Chapel of Chastain Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Pastor Ed Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service on Monday at the funeral home.

Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Lewis – Orleans

Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Lewis, 63, of Orleans, died at 8:15 am on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at his residence.
Born August 4, 1955, in Bedford, he was the son of Wilbur and Mabel (Delpha) Lewis. He was an inspector at Commonwealth Engineering. He was a twenty-six-year member of the Oolitic Fire Department where he had served as the past chief. He had worked many years for the town of Oolitic in various roles.
Survivors include two sons, Jason Scott Lewis, and wife, Angie, of Bedford, Christopher Lewis, of Oolitic; grandchildren, Emily Miller, Jacey Lewis, Gary Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Sadie Sasser, and Jarod Lewis; two great-grandchildren, Reese Scott Payton, and Elijah Travis Lewis; one brother, Phillip Lewis, and wife, Trish, of Mitchell; three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9 th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 8th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the town and community of Orleans, Commonwealth Engineering and Infrastructure Systems, Inc. for the love, support, and care shown during Jeff’s illness.

Claudia Kae Harding – Bedford

Claudia Kae Harding, 70, of Bedford, died at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis on Monday, April 1.
Born on December 20, 1948, she was the daughter of Alice and Guy Claude Heim. She married John Russell Harding
on August 30, 1968, and he survives. She was an administrative assistant at NSWC and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Bedford.
She is survived by her husband John, of Bedford; two sons, Matthew Harding and wife BreOnna, of Bedford and Jason Harding and wife Kylee, of Bedford; five grandchildren, Chloe, Isabelle, Eliza, Hayden, and Holten Harding.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, April 5 in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
