Sullivan County Sheriff Say Jail At 200 Percent Capacity

(SULLIVAN CO.) – The problem of jail overcrowding is hitting yet another county jail.

Sullivan County Sheriff Clark Cottom says his jail is at 200-percent capacity, which he attributes to a string of meth-related arrests in his county.
Commissioners met Monday night to discuss the problem. They tossed around several ideas and even heard from the same architecture firm that is being brought on by commissioners in Vigo County to build a new jail there.
County leaders plan to weigh their options and have a more firm plan at their next meeting on April 15.
