(BEDFORD) – The kick-off event for the 7th Annual Ugly Duck Derby and Belly Buster is Tuesday, April 2, at the Downtown Depot from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m.
The event is one of the five fundraisers that support the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County.
The kick-off event will give you a chance to purchase, at a discounted price, 40 ducks for $100. Ducks must be purchased by 6:45 pm. After the kickoff event, ducks are $5 each or five for $20. A flock of 13 is available for $50. There are 10,000 ducks available for the adoption.
Ducks will be sold now through May 18 when the Duck Derby takes place at John Lowery Municipal Pool from noon to 1:30 p.m. The date was moved a week earlier this year and to the afternoon to avoid conflicts with graduation ceremonies.
The first duck to cross the finish line will win a two-year lease on a vehicle from Bedford Ford. Many more prizes will be awarded to other ducks.
During the event, you can enter into a drawing for a trip to Branson, MO. over fall break.
A spaghetti dinner will be served at a cost of $5. This will consist of spaghetti, salad, and a drink.
The event will also reveal the local celebrities competing in the 2019 Belly Buster competition and the winner of the Branson trip will be announced.
Tickets can also be purchased at the following locations: Boys and Girls Club, Bedford Parks Department and Dr. Sowders office or online by clicking here. For additional information contact the Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence County at 812-279-6123.
All proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Clubs of Lawrence County.
