(LINTON) – Join fellow community members at the Greene County Community Baby Shower from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. on
Saturday, April 20, at the Greene County Hospital Cafeteria, at 1185 North 1000 West in Linton.
This free event is hosted by the Nurse-Family Partnership, an IU Health Community Health program dedicated to helping young families.
“We are excited to partner with many local agencies to host a Community Baby Shower in Greene County,” said Nurse-Family Partnership program manager Amy Meek, MSN, RN. “The focus is to support new parents with community resources and health education in hopes to combat Indiana’s infant mortality rate.”
There will be door prizes, gift giveaways, educational sessions, and refreshments. The educational sessions will cover safe sleep, car seat safety, breastfeeding, maternal health, and insurance navigation.
Any expectant or new parent is invited to attend.
The Nurse-Family Partnership program pairs first-time mothers with a registered nurse who helps support and educates them during and after their pregnancy. They are with the mothers until the child is two years old. Services are free to eligible females.
